In the United States today, true investigational journalism is rare. Much of the news circulated by mainstream media is only a presentation of information handed down from the government. Major media functions as a gatekeeper of information, creating consensus among Americans on an array of topics including the popularly held beliefs about September 11, 2001. An atmosphere has been created where questioning the official explanation or asking for a reinvestigation is seen as blasphemy. Individuals who do so are labeled anarchist, conspiracy theorist, domestic terrorist, and antigovernment. Politicians and other public figures who have voiced concerns about the 9/11 Commission Report have been invited on national news programs only to be pressured to renounce previous statements about 9/11 and publicly reject any affiliation to the group 9/11 Truth. While a critical analysis of the 9/11 Commission Report is absent from mainstream media, a number of questions go unanswered and unrecognized by most Americans.

Structural engineer Ron Brookman probes the NIST analyses of World Trade Center Seven (WTC 7). This article titled The NIST Analyses: A Close Look at WTC 7 is available free as a download, or can be purchased as a spiral-bound hardcopy in the AE911Truth online store. Brookman‘s careful examination of the NIST final reports regarding WTC 7 reveals an abundance of deficiencies and discrepancies. These come in many varieties. Some are erroneous, in that they conflict with scientific findings reported in the open literature. Others are inconsistencies internal to the NIST reports. And finally, others are incomplete with respect to failure to investigate matters that had been flagged as needing further investigation in official reports from other government agencies.

A Fox News hit piece against Jesse Ventura and the 9/11 truth movement written by former Washington D.C. prosecutor Jeffrey Scott Shapiro inadvertently reveals a shocking truth, that World Trade Center leaseholder Larry Silverstein, who collected nearly $500 million dollars in insurance as a result of the collapse of Building 7, a 47-story structure that was not hit by a plane but collapsed within seven seconds on September 11, was on the phone to his insurance carrier attempting to convince them that the building should be brought down via controlled demolition.
