Canada to train Mexican police in 15-mln-dlr program

GUADALAJARA, Mexico (AFP) - Canada said Sunday that it would increase training by its Mounted Police for Mexican officers as part of a new, 15-million-dollar security program for the Americas.
The announcement came as Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper arrived in the western Mexican city of Guadalajara for a summit overshadowed by Mexican drug violence. "Supporting police training in Mexico is one of the most effective ways to fight organized crime and drug trafficking within Canada," said a statement from Harper's office.
Thirty-two Mexican police officers would travel to Canada for three weeks' training in the fall, while eight Spanish-speaking Royal Canadian Mounted Police instructors were currently in Mexico providing basic training to Mexican Federal Police recruits. Canada would also provide training for 300 mid-level officers, the statement added. With killings in suspected drug attacks in Mexico approaching 10,000 since the start of 2008, Mexican President Felipe Calderon was expected to seek more support for his controversial military crackdown on the country's warring drug gangs during the two-day summit also attend by US President Barack Obama. The meeting came amid criticism of alleged abuses committed by some of the 40,000 soldiers deployed across the country, and reports of growing Mexican drug gang activity across the United States, Canada and beyond.

Professor's Notes: The Mexican national troops have been accused of committing various "abuses" on the citizens of Mexico while they are currently deployed across the country, exerting martial law on the Mexican people in the name of saving them from "warring drug gangs". It sounds as though Mr.Caleron's efforts to turn Mexico into a locked down police state are failing, and he needs help, a hero really. On whom does one call when they need assistance in their efforts to rob their people of basic human rights and to install a functioning and effective army of goose stepping, order following murderers? Why good ol' Canada of course, and it's gaggle of highly indoctrinated do-rights who's experience in managing and nullifying groups of innocent and honest law abiding people is second to none world wide. However, before WE slide into that familiar ass groove on OUR high horse's saddle, WE must know that OUR RCMP are not only guilty of aiding and abbetting a foreign facistic entity. While offering their services to Mr.Calderon, OUR Canadian National Police force is not only doing it's best impersonation of Hessian mercenaries but it is also taking advantage of an opportunity to tune up it's own abilities for use in a more domestic setting.
