Riot police have once
again clashed with protesters in Montreal and arrested some 180 people
protesting at the new legislation aimed at ending the three months of
anti-tuition hikes protests.
A day after a sometimes violent Montreal protest ended in a series of
street fires, police were criticized for pepper-spraying patrons at a
nearby bar patio.
Demonstrations in Quebec's long-running tuition protest again turned
violent Friday, as marchers hurled Molotov cocktails during a show of
defiance against controversial new legislation designed to end the
standoff.
