Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty says he's not concerned that Washington has issued a travel alert for Toronto during the G20 summit.

McGuinty notes the alert lasts just a few days, adding he'd only be concerned if he were a tourist looking for an available hotel room.

Washington issued the travel alert Thursday for Americans who live in Toronto or plan to visit the city before and during the June 26-27 summit of world leaders.

The U.S. State Department, citing the potential for large-scale demonstrations, warns protests that are meant to be peaceful can become violent and unpredictable.

The alert advises U.S. citizens to avoid protests and also forgo travelling in or through downtown Toronto during the summit, if possible.

Protesters have said they're planning a massive but peaceful rally and march on June 26.

Washington says the travel alert expires June 28.
