Whether genetically modified (GM) foods are beneficial or harmful is still controversial. Most foods we eat may contain ingredients derived from genetically modified organisms (GMOs)--everything from baby formula and food to our dairy to even our meat. If you live in Europe, avoiding GM foods is easier since laws require labeling. However in the US and Canada food manufacturers are not required to label if their food is genetically modified or not. As such, here are some guidelines for steering clear of GM foods in your diet, if that is your choice.

again clashed with protesters in Montreal and arrested some 180 people
protesting at the new legislation aimed at ending the three months of
anti-tuition hikes protests.
A day after a sometimes violent Montreal protest ended in a series of
street fires, police were criticized for pepper-spraying patrons at a
nearby bar patio.
Demonstrations in Quebec's long-running tuition protest again turned
violent Friday, as marchers hurled Molotov cocktails during a show of
defiance against controversial new legislation designed to end the
standoff.

at bay for more than six hours after allegedly strapping explosives to
his body is presumed dead after the house he was holed up in exploded,
Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Friday.
